Diagnostic Imaging (DI)
CHEO provides a full range of diagnostic services to the children and youth of our region. CHEO also provides limited MRI services to adults. DI is one of the largest Patient Service Units at CHEO. It employs approximately 90 staff, and houses 6 imaging areas. There are approximately 115,000 exams performed per year, in the department.
In the last year we have moved from a film-based system to a fully digital system. This means that all images are electronic and we no longer use any film to record images.

Location and Hours
Diagnostic Imaging is located on the second floor of the hospital. When you come in the main doors of the hospital keep to the right if you have an appointment in NM, Ultrasound, X-ray or GI, follow the signs for Diagnostic Imaging.
If your appointment is in MRI or CT please keep to the left once you enter the main doors. Follow the hallway to the CT/MRI desk.
How to make an appointment
Patients and Families
There are no bookings necessary for general x-ray examinations. If you have a request from your doctor for an X-ray exam, please come during the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. All CT, MRI, GI/GU and Ultrasound exams require a booking, these must be made by a referring physician.
