About the Ophthalmology Clinic
The ophthalmology clinic treats children and youth who suffer from eye disorders and conditions including:
- Retinopathy of prematurity
- Blocked tear duct
In order to best serve our community, ensure that we are able to respond to urgent and emergent requests for consultations in a timely manner, and ensure that all other requests are managed by an appropriate provider in an appropriate timeframe, we do not see patients for:
• Non acute decrease in vision
• Request for second opinion of ocular problem
• Chalazion and periocular lesions which do not obstruct visual axis
For a complete list of optometrists across our LHIN and beyond who are willing to assess children, and who will refer patients to our service if necessary, after an appropriate eye examination has been performed in the community, please visit "opto.ca".
