CHEO-OCTC Board of Directors
As a member of the CHEO/OCTC Board of Directors, Dwight Delahunt brings many years’ experience in child and youth matters. He has been an educator with the Ottawa Catholic School Board for over 37 years, first as a teacher and then as a principal for the latter 30 years.
Dwight has been a board member of the School Authority of the Ottawa Children’s Treatment Centre (OCTC) since 2009, and served as Chair since 2012. In his role, he is responsible, along with fellow board members, for supervising the operation of their School Program. He joined OCTC’s Board of Directors in 2009, also serving as a member of the Quality and Safety and Audit Committees.
Dwight has worked on projects related to developmental disabilities in children, alongside physiologists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, and social workers. His leadership in designing, constructing, and fundraising for the Bayshore Accessible Playground – a park that is accessible to children with disabilities – led to the park being dedicated in his name. Dwight has also donated much of his time to working on various environmental action issues, particularly acting on the OCSB Environmental Action Committee for over 10 years.
