Learn more about eating disorders

A person with an eating disorder:

  • Has extreme concerns about weight and shape
  • Engages in dysregulated weight control behaviors such as,
    • Restricting intake/severe dieting
    • Over-exercising
    • Binge-eating

How do eating disorders start?

Vulnerable individuals (often anxious or perfectionistic) with low self-esteem + stress + dietary changes (eg ‘eating healthy’) or weight control measures (dieting or exercising) ... an eating disorder.
