Indeed, through an eminently prolific collaboration, Dr. John Bell, a senior scientist in cancer therapeutics at The Ottawa Hospital Research Institute and Dr. David Stojdl, a scientist in molecular biomedicine at the CHEO Research Institute, have identified a way to trick cancer cells into committing suicide after receiving oncolytic virus therapy; in effect, eradicating the cancer itself and the potential for metastatic cancer growth.
