Refugee Support Resources

CHEO has joined the Refugee 613 effort to coordinate Ottawa’s response to the global refugee crisis. We are pleased to work with our partners on the Refugee 613 Health Task Force to respond to the health needs of the Syrian refugee children and youth expected to arrive in Eastern Ontario this winter.

Community Resources

  • Refugee 613
  • Catholic Center for Immigration (CCI Ottawa)
  • Maison Sophia Reception House
  • Ottawa Newcomer Health Centre (ONHC) is pleased to launch its website to connect immigrants and refugees, sponsors, and healthcare workers with our services and to provide quality information about health resources in Ottawa. What’s more – the website is available in a wide variety of languages so those who don’t speak English or French can begin to navigate the health system themselves, in the comfort of their own language.
  • Simplifying the Journey - The CHEO Patient Experience team created this online toolkit to help other Canadian organizations assist newcomers.
