Accessibility at CHEO

In keeping with its values, the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) is committed to meeting the accessibility needs of persons with disabilities in a timely manner that respects their dignity and independence. CHEO will strive to provide patients, their families, staff, physicians, volunteers and members of the community with barrier-free access to its facilities, policies, programs, practices and services. CHEO will continue to foster and endorse attitudes and behaviours that eliminate barriers for persons with disabilities.

CHEO Annual Accessibility Plan: 2013-2018

In compliance with the Ontarians with Disabilities Act, the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) has developed an Annual Accessibility Plan. An Accessibility Working Group with broad membership from within the Hospital, meets regularly and though this group, CHEO has initiated a process for the identification and prioritization of barriers, and a plan for the coming year aimed at improving the overall accessibility to the Hospital.
