CHEO appreciates donations from our community. If you'd like to make a financial or in-memoriam donation, please contact the CHEO Foundation directly.
We appreciate your thoughtfulness in considering CHEO. Regrettably, we are limited in the kinds of donations we can accept.
Suggestions for seasonal or special occasion giving
Organizations, service clubs, or groups wanting to donate items to CHEO during the holiday season or in honour of a special occasion, are invited to make a financial donation to our Special Occasion fund. Proceeds from the Special Occasion fund will be used throughout the year, as the need arises, to purchase toys, craft supplies and electronic games for our playrooms and child life program.

Infection control and patient safety
Due to our infection control guidelines, patient allergies, safety precautions and limited space, we cannot accept any food products, used items such as used toys, used stuffed animals, used books, used electronic games and videos and homemade toys and crafts.
While many used stuffed animals and toys appear new and clean, we still cannot accept them because they may have been exposed to germs, dust, pets and bacteria. All of these create a risk to our patients who may have allergies and fragile immune systems.
Blankets and knitted items
CHEO welcomes donations of knitted blankets for patients (size 36 by 40 inches or larger). Please note that these must be knitted with new and washable yarn or made from polar fleece or are quilted. All donations of blankets can be dropped off at the Volunteer Resources office located on the lower level of the hospital in room 1157.
Thank you for thinking of us and for your cooperation. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact CHEO Public Relations at 613-737-2343.
