CHEO Puts Out Call for Adult Volunteers with Daytime Availability
OTTAWA – The Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) is currently seeking adult volunteers with daytime availability, in order to balance the hospital’s current team of student and adult volunteers. Adult candidates can be retired, semi-retired, consultants, or home workers -- as long as they meet the requirements for the position.

All volunteers are asked to make a minimum commitment to the hospital of one year, working a set shift, once-a-week. The majority of placements are scheduled weekdays during daytime hours, and most shifts are two to four hours long.

CHEO offers a variety of volunteer positions throughout the year. The hospital is currently seeking adult volunteers for these roles:
  • Information Desk Greeter
  • Emergency Runners
  • Day Surgery escorts
  • Coffee Cart
In recognition of National Volunteers Week, CHEO would like to thank its more than 400 volunteers for the hard work they do in all areas of the hospital. CHEO’s volunteers are important members of the healthcare team, who help extend and enhance the quality of care and support provided by the CHEO staff.
