CHEO announces new appointments to its Board of Trustees
June 12, 2012, OTTAWA, ON -- The Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) is pleased to announce the new appointments of Jo-Anne Poirier, Meena Roberts, Michael Baine and Pam Aung-Thin to the hospitals Board of Trustees, effective immediately.

“We are delighted to welcome such strong and prominent community leaders to the Board,” said Johanne Levesque, Board Chair, CHEO. “CHEO will greatly benefit from their experiences and diverse palettes of knowledge and will nicely complement and round out a Board.” 
Jo-Anne Poirier is the chief executive officer of Ottawa Community Housing Cooperative and a member of the Champlain Local Health Integration Network’s Board of Directors. Previously, she was the vice president of Resource Development and the CEO of the Government of Canada Workplace Charitable Campaign at United Way Ottawa.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Michael Baine is an educational consultant, who brings over 35 years of experience in the field of education. He currently serves as Chair of Youth Services Bureau of Ottawa Board of Directors. Mr. Baine previously sat on the Board of Directors for the Ottawa Children’s Treatment Centre and the Rideauwood Addiction and Family Services Organization.
 
Meena Roberts is a management consultant who specializes in strategic planning, policy analysis, and impact assessment/evaluations for government and non-profit clients. She brings more than 15 years of community involvement and currently serves on the Board of Governors of Ashbury College, the Foundation Board of Ottawa Community Housing, and the Community Service Cabinet of the United Way.
 
 
Pam Aung-Thin is the National Director of Public Affairs and Government Relations at the Canadian Red Cross. She has held a number of senior positions in the fields of communications and non-profit organization management, bringing over 20 years of experience across both the public and private sectors.

The new trustees were appointed after the vacancies were posted and shortlisted candidates were interviewed.

Concurrent with the new appointments, Pam Cain, Chantal Courchesne, and David Egan will be stepping down from the Board of Trustees. CHEO would like to thank them for their long standing commitment to the hospital.
