The event is the brainchild of Shopify CPO Harley Finkelstein and Shopify Guru Liz McDonald. It is being held in partnership with Ian Lloyd, founder of Reap and Sow al and goes by the name DJ Illo. For Harley, the idea emerged from his own experience growing, whereby one of his mentors taught him the skills of operating a DJ booth, enabling him to find confidence and self-esteem and build his first company.

"As a whole, our team at Shopify is comprised of entrepreneurs and do-ers, and many of us started our own ventures and careers when we were teenagers. As a young person it's really important to be able to connect with strong mentors, those can inspire them and provide a clear path forward. This event will act as a catalyst in connecting with such mentors," said Harley Finkelstein, CPO Shopify.

Youth Net/Réseau Ado is a for youth, by youth organization providing mental health promotion and intervention programs in the Ottawa Area.
