CHEO seeks volunteer to join the Ontario Centre of Excellence for Child & Youth Mental Health Governance Committee
The Ontario Centre of Excellence for Child and Youth Mental Health (the Centre) is currently recruiting for a member with financial expertise to participate on its governance committee. This committee is comprised of seven (7) members who represent the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), the Centre and its external stakeholders.
Committee members include:
  • Two (2) CHEO representatives (at least one member from the CHEO Board of Trustees and a member with financial expertise); the member from the CHEO Board of Trustees will chair the Committee
  • The CHEO’s Chief Executive Officer
  • The Centre’s Executive Director (non-voting)
  • Two (2) members of the Centre’s Advisory Committee
  • One (1) member identified by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services (the Ministry)
Members are invited to serve a 3-year term and terms may be renewed for a maximum of one (1) additional year term. Reporting to the Board of Trustees of CHEO, the governance committee’s mandate is to provide governance and stewardship to the Centre in its strategic / operational planning and implementation, its financial management and judicious use of public funds, and its performance measurement and impact of outcomes. Committee meetings are held at the call of the Chair at least four (4) times a year; two face-to-face meetings with a minimum of two alternating teleconference meetings. The meeting schedule will reflect reporting deliverables of the Centre and reporting timelines. If ad hoc decisions are required an additional meeting may be called by the Chair. Service as a committee member is voluntary and members will be reimbursed by the Centre for any expenses incurred to attend meetings.
