CHEO’s Rainbow Cafeteria is being renovated

CHEO is adopting the Bronze Level standard set by the Healthy Foods in Champlain Hospitals initiative, created by our region’s health care leaders. To help us deliver our new healthier menu, CHEO’s Rainbow Cafeteria will be undergoing renovations starting March 24. After the renovations, the Rainbow Cafeteria will feature even healthier options. Designed to be open-concept and welcoming, our updated cafeteria will be modern and fresh – just like our food!

The Rainbow Cafeteria will remain open for business during renovations.

Visiting CHEO soon? Don’t worry!

During renovations, a pop-up cafeteria inside the Rainbow Cafeteria will feature both hot and cold meals, including a salad bar, panini area, and pizza station. CHEO’s Oasis Café, located on the main level of CHEO, will also remain open to staff and visitors.

Healthy Foods in Champlain Hospitals

In partnership with the Local Health Integration Network, CHEO and 20 other hospitals in our region have committed to transform food options for our staff, families and visitors. A 3-tier system with Bronze, Silver, and Gold levels was developed.

Each level was designed to improve the availability of healthy options in hospital cafeterias, and reduce products with too much added sugar, unhealthy fats or high sodium. We know that many family members spend a lot of time here. This will make it easier to eat healthy while at CHEO!
