Happy Family Day

"I have been taking my daughter Emma to CHEO since she was born 8 years ago. I cannot begin to say how amazing this hospital is. Without CHEO in my daughter's life I don't think she would be where she is today. CHEO has become like family to us.” Janna Bonvie-Flagg

For some of us, family is our blood relatives. For others, it’s the friends and people who stand with us through everything. Families come in all shapes and sizes, from all walks of life. We know this first-hand at CHEO and OCTC. And while we each define, in our own terms, what makes up our immediate family, when children, parents, caregivers and visitors walk through the doors of CHEO-OCTC, they become part of our larger family.

On Monday, we will be celebrating Family Day. For all of us, it’s an opportunity to celebrate not only our own, but those who are in our care and part of our extended family of care.

Our family has grown over the past year as we merged CHEO and OCTC. And that’s how we like it. The more we work together, the better care we can provide for the children, youth and families who rely on us. This alone is reason to celebrate.

So from the larger CHEO-OCTC family to yours – happy Family Day. And if you can’t be home to celebrate with your own, know that your work will be making a memorable difference for one or many families who rely on your professionalism, expertise and caring to keep their loved ones safe and healthy.
