Child, youth and family engagement continues to move forward.
Last fall, over 200 children, youth and families shared their thoughts and ideas on how the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario and the Ottawa Children’s Treatment Centre (CHEO – OCTC) can better engage with the people they serve. This feedback — along with guidance from smaller, dedicated groups of children, youth and families — drew a picture of what the organization’s new engagement framework could look like.
An engagement framework guides how CHEO – OCTC involves children, youth and families in every step of their care and all aspects of the organization, which helps CHEO – OCTC provide the highest quality of service.
The next step is to share the workshops’ results with the world, ensuring the plan works for as many people as possible. Surveys and consultations will be available to everyone; contact Christine Kouri at firstname.lastname@example.org or 613-737-7600 x2203 to find out how you can participate.
With the public’s feedback, CHEO – OCTC will build an engagement framework to present to the board of directors. Once the board approves the framework, families will review it one last time to make sure it reflects their vision and values. The framework is scheduled to launch for staff and public mid-2018.
There are still several ways to get involved and many options to suit your schedule. If you’d like to help out or learn more, please contact Christine Kouri at email@example.com or 613-737-7600 x2203
