There’s a job for you at CHEO!

We’re hiring temporary, part-time, full-time and casual positions.

Nursing at CHEO

CHEO nurses are the heartbeat of our organization. They are committed to providing the highest standard of care. Nurses act as teachers, mentors, researchers, problem-solvers, decision-makers and advocates for our families. A variety of diverse roles give CHEO nurses the opportunity to explore and expand their capabilities and strengths.

Developing your nursing career at CHEO can involve experience in many areas throughout our pediatric health centre. Some of these dynamic positions include:

PICU

Our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is a fast-paced, dynamic environment that will keep you growing as a nurse. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team that contributes to innovative research and programs like Pediatric Virtual Critical Care. As a PICU nurse, you will work collaboratively with a core group of physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists and dietitians to provide care for critically ill children and youth.

PICU nurses at CHEO have the opportunity to gain critical-thinking skills, continually improve upon fundamental nursing skills and are encouraged to set goals to become cardiac, SPOT and charge trained.

Are you a confident, compassionate nurse who is looking to grow in a highly skilled environment? If so, we’d love for you to apply to join our team.

CHEO's inpatient nurses often tell us one of the most rewarding parts of their role is working with an integrated health-care team as well as the child, youth and families towards a common goal of care.

Children and youth at CHEO present with a variety of medical diagnoses and complexities. You can expect to rapidly grow new skills and enhance existing knowledge across a variety of areas of practice, including pediatrics, chronic and acute illness and invasive and non-invasive ventilation.

Are you passionate about best practices in nursing, interested in partnering in care with children of all ages and their families/caregivers, a team player and willing to learn new things to expand your knowledge? If so, we’d love for you to apply to join our team.

MDU

Working in CHEO’s Medical Day Unit (MDU) no two days are the same. You will encounter a fast-paced, dynamic environment providing treatments and infusions for patients. You will get the opportunity to put a vast array of your nursing skills to work among a large multidisciplinary team, providing outpatient medical treatments.

Are you a nurse with ambulatory care experience, venipuncture and phlebotomy skills? If so, we’d love for you to apply to join our team.

Apply to be a casual registered nurse

Oncology

Nurses working in the oncology unit at CHEO provide treatment to medically complex children and youth. In addition to oncology patients, nurses will also care for immunocompromised patients and eating disorder clients.

You will work as part of a large multidisciplinary team and build empathetic and professional relationships with children and youth who are hospitalized for a longer duration of time. This is a great opportunity to gain additional skills and training caring for medically complex children and youth.

Are you an empathetic, fun-loving nurse who thrives on working in a complex environment? If so, we’d love for you to apply to join our team.
