What is the Navigator Program?
The Navigator Program is a new program to help parents who are caring for a child with complex medical needs. It will provide non-medical supports to help parents in their caregiving role. The program has been funded for 5 years by the Government of Canada (Social Development Partnership Program). Pinecrest-Queensway Community Health Centre (PQCHC) works with the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) to provide this program.
Every family with a medically complex child will have access to services, supports and information to help them thrive.
Our goals are to:
- Promote the social and emotional health of families;
- Help families access and navigate key supports and services;
- Increase understanding of the best ways to support families;
- Find gaps in the system, and find solutions to the problems families often face.
