A network of care for children and youth

Taking care of a child who is sick is one of the most emotionally, and often physically, challenging tasks faced by families and caregivers. Navigating the province's complex health systems can make this even tougher. We've heard from families that services can be fragmented, inconsistent and poorly coordinated. Often, families can't always get the care they need in their own communities. All of this can negatively impact a child's health.

CHEO, The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) and Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital established Kids Health Alliance in 2017. The Kids Health Alliance aims to improve care across Ontario.

What is the Kids Health Alliance?

Kids Health Alliance is a not-for-profit network of health care organizations that collaborate to improve care for children and youth.

The network currently includes the three founding pediatric hospitals, and five community hospitals in Southern and Eastern Ontario:

  • Pembroke Regional Hospital
  • Markham Stouffville Hospital
  • Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital
  • Humber River Hospital
  • Michael Garron Hospital

Our goal is to make tangible improvements in the delivery of pediatric health care, thereby improving the patient experience and health outcomes, and generating greater value. By doing so, KHA will contribute to higher quality of care for children and youth through:

  • Improved experience through patient and family centered care
  • Enhanced capacity to deliver safe, quality care closer to home
  • Standardized care delivery
  • Realization of greater value and efficiencies.

Young people and their families can trust that any member of KHA is committed to providing excellent and expert pediatric care.
