CHEO’s parking lot ‘e’ closing in preparation for new parking garage construction
As we embark on the first steps to grow our campus and the upcoming construction of CHEO’s new Children Integrated Treatment Centre (1Door4Care), a new parking garage will be built to accommodate more visitors and staff as well as make space for the new building.
Starting September 15 at 4pm, CHEO will continue to have two parking lots for families and visitors to use during this construction: lot "A" located beside the hospital, adjacent to the Garry Cardiff Wing entrance, and lot "B" located across from the main building entrance.
Follow signs when you arrive at CHEO to help direct you to family and visitor parking.
Allow enough time before your appointment to find parking. Parking demand peaks between 9:30am and noon.
If necessary, you can find additional parking next door at the Ottawa Hospital General Campus or on nearby city streets. CHEO parking passes are only valid at CHEO and not at The Ottawa Hospital's General Campus.
Accessible spaces
We have a total of 37 accessible parking spaces available to the public, 14 of which are van accessible. Keep an eye out for signage indicating these spaces, or visit our Maps & Locations page and look for the accessible parking icons in the maps.
Accessible spaces are available at several locations:
- Public Lot A
- Pay and Display near the main entrance
- CTC/Roger Neilson House traffic circle
If a CHEO parking pass holder requires an accessible parking spot and one isn't readily available in Lot A, an exception may be granted for you to park in the Pay and Display area. Please notify CHEO's Security and Parking Services in advance, to make sure that a parking infraction isn't mistakenly issued.
Parking rates
All parking revenue goes towards buying medical equipment, supporting our programs and building new care environments at CHEO.
CHEO has been able to provide one of the lowest hospital paid parking rates in comparison to our partner hospitals in the City of Ottawa.
Families in financial need may ask for help with parking costs. Speak to your social worker or the CHEO Social Work office for more information.
