Kids Come First Care Clinic
The Kids Come First Care Clinic is available for in-person assessment and care of children and youth with acute illnesses which include a fever, cough or runny nose.
The clinic is by appointment only.
Book an appointment with the Kids Come First Care Clinic if:
- You cannot access an in-person appointment with your primary care provider (family doctor, nurse practitioner, or pediatrician)
- The child has a new symptom such as fever, cough, vomiting, belly pain, ear ache, rash or sore throat, for which you would usually seek medical attention from your primary care provider (note that if your child has had a COVID test in the last few days because of these symptoms, you can still be seen in-person at the Kids Come First Care Clinic)
- The child is older than 2 months
- Tests offered at the clinic: COVID swab, throat swab, urine in children who can pee in a cup, chest x-ray and blood tests
Please note: we are not able to provide assessment or advice for injuries or primary care visits like well-baby checks, routine immunizations, chronic constipation or abdominal pain, behavioural issues, medication adjustments or refills, or mental health concerns. These problems must be addressed by your regular doctor or nurse practitioner.
The Kids Come First Care Clinic is located at CHEO's main campus, 401 Smyth Road, Ottawa Ontario.
