Read our Patient Declaration of Values
At CHEO we are all Partners in Health. We’re a partnership of children, youth, families, staff, physicians and volunteers, working together and listening to each other, all with the goal of making care better.
That means we value having you involved in everything we do, from care at the bedside to decisions made in the boardroom. In the care setting, we know that families know their children and youth know themselves. We rely on your feedback and participation to make sure you get the best care possible.
There are many ways for you to share your voice and get involved. Below you will find a variety of ways you can provide feedback or participate to help us continue to improve our services.
Become an advisor
Families, caregivers and youth offer a fresh perspective. At CHEO we involve youth and family advisors as “co-designers” on our projects to improve our programs and services. If you are interested in becoming an advisor, which may require your participation online or at a meeting, please fill out our online application form. We also invite you to email our Partners in Health team to find out more about this opportunity.
Feedback
Our Patient and Family Representative is here to listen to your experience. Our aim is to ensure that all of your feedback, both positive and negative, is heard and used to enhance care at CHEO. Learn more about how to share your feedback.
Focus groups
From time to time, CHEO conducts focus groups. We bring a small group of people together to share their thoughts, ideas and experiences related to a particular topic. If you are parent, caregiver or youth interested in participating in one, please email our Partners in Health team.
Research and education
Did you know that children, youth and families can have an active role in CHEO research – beyond consenting to participate in a study? You can help to determine the research questions to be answered, influence the study design, and much more. Visit the CHEO Research Institute’s website to find out how you can help make discoveries today for healthier kids tomorrow.
Tell your story
We’re always looking for story ideas to share on our website, in our printed materials, with the community, or internally with our staff. If someone at CHEO has changed your life or that of your child or teen – please let us know.
