CHEO's community pharmacy has been renamed CHEO KidCare Pharmacy, introducing a new look and feel, and it has improved services to patients and families.
Celebrating a decade in business, CHEO KidCare Pharmacy is located inside the main entrance of the hospital’s campus at 401 Smyth Rd.
Open to all members of the community — from newborns to adults — the pharmacy provides specialized services such as non-sterile compounding and prescription flavouring, and it has access to a large inventory of pediatric medications.
Some of the most common medications that require compounding include prednisone, dexamethasone and celecoxib, which can be supplied the same day because they are made in bulk at CHEO.
Families do not need a prescription from CHEO to access KidCare Pharmacy.
Pharmacy hours are Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. (closed from 1:30 p.m. to 2 p.m.), and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It's closed on statutory holidays.
This new look is part of CHEO’s ambitious 10-year redevelopment plan to transform its Smyth Road campus to better meet the needs of children and youth today and in the future.
