To meet the needs of students with special needs, schools like the CHEO School — that provide vital health-care services as part of a child’s school day — will resume in-person learning starting Thursday, January 7. The CHEO School provides supports including Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Speech-Language Pathology as part of our student’s school day — these supports are essential for their life-long development and while some of these services can be delivered virtually, many need to be delivered in-person.
Parents and guardians will have the option to send their child back to in-person learning at this time. As always, we are following the latest Ministry guidance and will keep parents and guardians up-to-date with any changes to CHEO School services.
The safety of children, youth, families and staff is our top priority. Our COVID-19 safety precautions continue to be in place to protect everyone at CHEO and provide a safe learning environment. This includes daily screening of parents, guardians, students and staff, cohorting of students and staff, enhanced cleaning measures and more. Read more about the increased safety measure at the CHEO School.
Parents and guardians of students who attend the CHEO School can contact Angie Thompson for any questions or concerns around returning to in-person learning.
