Dr. Nisha Thampi, medical director for CHEO’s infection prevention and control program, talked to the Globe and Mail about CHEO seeing more hospital admissions for RSV as we enter the 2025-26 peak viral season.

Thampi said most patients admitted to hospital have not been protected against the circulating viruses.
“These different variants have not changed my own decision and my recommendation to colleagues and families and loved ones,” she said.
“I still very much support getting the flu vaccine.”
