Welcome! The Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) is a publicly funded facility with a number of clinics to support various medical needs. CHEO offers medical care and services to patients that reside in our region. If you are new to Ottawa and would like more information about how to receive care at CHEO, please see below:
- Please refer to clinic webpages on CHEO.ca to confirm if CHEO is the right provider for your location and condition for your location and condition.
- If your child or youth requires a consultation or assessment, a referral to one of our clinics is required. Referrals must be made by a Canadian community physician. Note: the response to this referral is sent back to the community physician who placed the referral.
- Please bring all your medical records with you or have them sent from your current provider.

CHEO is a ministry covered health care hospital and requires a Canadian health card for medical coverage. Please find more information about coverage below:
- If you have a Health Insurance Plan in another province, please make a referral to CHEO
- Check to see if you qualify for OHIP
