Sexual assault/abuse and sex trafficking are complex and often highly stigmatized adverse life events. Victims/survivors may experience physical and psychosocial changes during and/or following these experiences, such as:

  • difficulty sleeping
  • change in appetite
  • new or worsening mental health concerns
  • behavioural changes
  • decreased engagement at school
  • relational difficulties
  • new or worsening substance use concerns
  • physical injuries
  • other health or psychosocial-related concerns

We are here to support patients and their caregivers, and recommend that you seek community support. Please find below a non-exhaustive list of community resources.

Community organizations

We collaborate with multiple community providers who offer support and resources to children and youth who have experienced sexual assault and abuse, including child welfare services and police.
