Cochlear Implants

A cochlear implant is a small complex medical device that can help provide a sense of sound to a person
who is profoundly deaf or severely hard of hearing. Rather than amplifying sound like a hearing aid, it
works by stimulating the auditory nerve directly through the cochlea thus bypassing the damaged inner
ear.
